How to clean burnt stains on stainless steel
Many people enjoy cooking from scratch. We love the aromas that permeate through the home and the satisfaction when a dish turns out well and we’re left with a delicious meal. If only the hard work ended there!
Unfortunately, once the food is down our gullets we’re stuck with a lot of cleaning. If you own a dishwasher at least the majority can be cleaned automatically, but larger items, such as Stainless Steel Pans or large Oven trays might have to be cleaned by hand in the sink.
Sometimes ingredients, particularly sauces, will get burnt on the bottom of the pot, pan or tray, or around the edges, and we have to apply a lot of elbow grease to remove the stains successfully.
Usually you can release burnt stains from a stainless steel pan by simply pouring boiling hot water into it and letting it sit for a while. However, if this doesn’t prove enough, another good cleaning tip for removing burnt on food is by creating a paste using Baking soda and water. The mixture should have the consistency of toothpaste.
Apply the paste over the burnt areas and let it sit for twenty minutes before wiping it away with the rough side of a sponge or scouring pad and rinsing under a tap. Most of the burnt on food should lift right off, but you may need to repeat the process if the stain continues to be stubborn.
