What issues and concerns with Microwave Ovens?
what issues and concerns of the general public did microwave manufactuers have to overcome about the use of microwave ovens?
I’d say the first was radiation leakage. Radiation is an emotionally charged term since the public in the 60′s associated radiation with radioactivity from nuclear fallout, which isn’t the same thing as the electromagnetic radiation that a microwave Oven uses. But as we all have heard, radiation = cancer.
The second problem to a lesser degree was the concept that microwaves somehow damage the food and make it less healthy to eat.
And today there are concerns that some types of plastic will release carcinogens into the food. But you didn’t ask about today.
